Money raised during Trailwalker goes to Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust (GWT), to fund their work tackling poverty and suffering. Oxfam works all over the world; GWT works specifically in Gurkha communities in Nepal. Our personal message:

On the 18th/19th July 2009 Team "Walking on Sunshine", Becks, Jeff, Emily and Owen, are embarking on the walk of a lifetime! We aim to walk 100km, along the South Downs from Petersfield to Brighton in under 30 hours, with minimal stops and no sleep. Why are we doing this you may ask?! We are taking part in an event called Trailwalker which rasies money for Oxfam as well as the Gurkha Welfare Trust. Trailwalker has been running for 25 years, and now takes place in 8 countries. We are hoping to raise at least £2000 for the cause and this is where you come in! Please help us along the way by donating (as little as a couple of quid will be a great help!)

The amount raised offline includes £20 from a bake sale and £80 raised from selling golf balls (£2 for 10 balls.... let us know if you are interested!?). We have also received generous corporate sponsorship of £500 including an incredible donation from Kirkstone Property Ventures for £300! Thank you to everyone who has generously contributed in these ways (especially the Brunners who donated 1000 golf balls!).
