After an exciting build up over many months and much fun training and carbo loading we started the event on Saturday morning at 7am alongside fellow trailtrekkers. A terribly hot day impacted our team and after 16 hours sadly Rachel 'the entertainment' was forced into retirement, and so Hannah, Claire and myself fought on to finish in 29 hours and 26 mins! Good memories included great team spirit by all, our fantastic support crew who sacrificed beer time in the pub to support our every need (and we had a lot!), as well as our remote supporters who tracked our progress and sent encouraging messages. Thanks to all who have supported us through our challenge!!! of a good challenge, Claire, Rachel, Hannah and myself have decided to commit to the very first Trailtrekker 09, a 100km 4-strong team event in the Yorkshire Dales on 30/31st May 09 - target - get home in one piece, in less than 30 hours...and most importantly, HELP TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE Any cash we raise will go to Oxfam - our target of £1,500 could buy 11 bicycle ambulances in a struggling 3rd world country. The more money we raise, the more good work Oxfam can get done as a result...it's a no brainer really - donate what you can to support! (We've all subsidised our own super duper walking boots, poles, and blister plasters!) Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Oxfam gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Please sponsor us now, we need all the motivation and support we can get to start training!
