My story
I have always wanted to do the Great North Run, and when challenged by my friend Neil Douglass (who was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia in September) to join him in applying for a place in the 2011 race to raise funds for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, how could I refuse??? I get the personal achievement of running in this iconic event in the year I hit 40 years of age, while raising as much money as possible for a brilliant charity, which will hopefully contribute towards funding research for a cure, while supporting those battling Leukaemia & Lymphoma.
