Imagine running,
Your feet are hitting the dust sending out clouds behind you. Your lungs are bursting for precious breaths of oxygen. Your heart is hammering but it keeps on pumping blood to keep your legs going. It’s hot, and you are willing your limbs to hold out..
Now imagine that cool drink gushing down your throat at the end of the race. The refreshing shower you take to feel clean again.
For this race, I am literally running for water. Most of the time we just take this precious resource for granted. For many, many people accessing clean, safe water is a daily struggle. I’ll be very grateful for water at the end of my 10k.
Growing up in Rajasthan, India I was raised up to appreciate how important water was for day to day life. Even today there are many villages in Rajasthan that do not have access to clean water and people have to walk several miles to get enough water for a day. Wells for India has been active in Rajasthan for the last 22 years providing villages with new or refurbished wells and hand pumps and I believe with your help Wells for India can reach out to more villages and more people to provide water.
Please help me raise funds towards providing water for people in one of the hottest areas of the world, one of the poorest, where water - clean, fresh water - is not a given.
