My personal message:

Ever since I was small I have wanted to run the London Marathon. My Dad has run the marathon a few times and I have always thought it would be such as amazing achievement and an amazing feeling to run past all the famous London land marks with all the crowds cheering you on.
I was inspired to run for
The Brain Research Trust because I think medical research is really important. When someone you love gets poorly and you know they are going to die you feel angry. I want to channel my anger into something positive and to raise funds so hopefully others won't have to suffer the same way. My run is memory of a few people who are special to me...

My Granddad who died after suffering for years with Alzeimers. My Nana also died of Alzeimers and it was my Granddad who did his best to take care of her. Alzheimers is a terrible disease, robbing people of their memories so eventually they can't remember their family of even how to do the most simple task. It is heart breaking for the sufferer and those who love them.

My friend Carol- Anne. She died of a brain tumour. She was a really amazing person and I was privileged to have met her. She was only 28 and it seems so unfair to lose someone that young with so much left to live for.

Dave Kay, my school friends dad. He had a tragic motorbike accident when he was on holiday and damaged his brain so badly the never woke up. He was a lovely, kind man and his family miss him terribly.

When I first decided to run the marathon my step brother Terry was going to run it with me. Terrys mum Karen died of cancer which started in her breast and spread through her body and into her brain. Karen was a brilliant mum and it is so unfair that Terry and Brad  lost their mum at such a young age.

Hopefully the money I raise will help find better treatments for these illnesses and injuries! My target is £2000  so please give as much as you can.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Brain Research Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.

Clare xx
