Story

5/04/2013: So proud of the girls for achieving their goal!! They are currently working their way down, through Tengboche until they reach Lukla. Massive well done to them!

3/04/2013: The girls have reached Everest base camp! They said it was extremely hard but so amazing! The girls reached a height of 5545m at the Kalapatar look out point at which they can really admire what they have achieved! Well done girls!!

2/04/2013: The girls have had another tough day today, they worked their ways up to lobuche at 4800m this morning and then had another walk this afternoon to 5000m. They are all having to dig deep, good luck girls!

30&31/03/2013: The girls are currently trekking between Namche and Dingboche. This is where the views really start to become spectacular as it is from the holy ground of Tyangboche that the Trekkers can see all the surrounding mountains; Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam Kwangde, Kangtega and of course Everest! We will be expecting lots of pictures girls!

29/03/2013: The girls have had an acclimatisation day today, which is an important step in preparing the group for the climb and improves their chances of achieving the ultimate goal of reaching Kalapatar. They have also had their first glimpse of Everest - think it all just got very real! Keep going guys!

28/03/2013: The guys did 8 hours worth of walking today to arrive at Namche Bazaar (3440m). It was a steady walk into the town which is a important meeting and trading place for the locals! Good news in that the whole group have finally been reuinted!

27/03/2013: Finally all of the team have boarded a flight to lukla and so the trek is under way! Katrina is very happy that not only are they on the way to catch up to the rest of the group but also the fact she got to share a room with a 23 year old fella last night! Bet most of you ladies are interested in trekking now!  The end group are currently at 2600m where they will spend the night before joining the rest of the group tomorrow. Reports are its hot in the day time and cold at night ... Its only going to get colder girls!

26/03/2013: After a chilled out day sightseeing around the temples the girls have had a slight delay starting the trek as it was too windy for the flight to lukla this morming. Some of the team are already there, but will have to wait until tomorrow for the rest of the team to join them. 4am rise for them tomorrow hoping to catch the next flight out, so wakey wakey girls - GOOD LUCK!!

24/03/2013: All the girls have arrived safely in Kathmandu, they had a long flight but were treated to a very spicy curry last night and are looking forward to a chilled day tomorrow, sightseeing before an early flight to Lukla Tuesday in order to start the trek!!!

The time is nearly here, after all the training and fundraising, We are only a few weeks away from the biggest challenge of our lives..

we will keep thisnpage updated while we are away, so you can see how our Trek is going, a huge thankyou for reading our page and donating, its very much appreciated and all monies aee being put to great use straight away.

After Climbing Kilimanjaro last year, and raising over £22000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, we wanted to continue to  raise  money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Katrina Maxine Jane and Louise are attempting to get to Everest Base Camp in March 2013, and so the fundraising continues

Katrina and Louise are training hard for their next challenge, ready for Everest, they are doing the Welsh 15 Peaks Challenge, which will include crossing terrain varying from moorland and loose rocky ground to narrow ridges including a few scrambles. This is being done over the weekend 28th 29th 30th July 2012, It will be another tough challenge, but one we are looking forward to. We will keep you posted as to our progress.

Monday 13th Feb: The girls have summited Toubkal!!! They have had a very long and tiring day, with very steep ascents as soon as the climb began! They have said that it is extreemly cold but with spectacular views! Katrina rang home when they had just summited and said that they were sat at the top eatting sardine sandwiches ... probably just what they needed after a very impressive climb! We are all very proud of you guys!

Sunday 12th Feb: Today the girls spent the day acclimatising and practicing their winter skills. They left the refuge early morning and headed off to one of the many summits within the valley, during which they practiced coming down the hill on their bums and stopping with ice picks. They already have amazing views of Toubkal and are now resting in order to set off at first light tomorrow.

Saturday 11th Feb: The girls have just arrived at the refuge after a very long day. They left Marrakech early this morning and set off for the Berber village of Imlil, where they started their trek to the Neltner Refuge. They are now at 3208m where it's pretty cold with lots of snow! The girls are tired with a little alltitude but have all done very well and are enjoying the beautiful views.

Friday 10th Feb: So the 2012 Mount Toubkal trek begins ... The girls are safely in Marrackech, and have spent the day wandering around the markets and looking at lots of amazing temples and mosques. They will be heading off to start the climb at 7pm tomorrow, so the best of luck to them and I will keep you updated on their progress.

On February 9th 2012, Katrina, Julie and Caroline head off to Morocco on a Winter Ascent of Mt Toubkal and Quanoukrim which are North Africa's highest Mountains standing at 4167m and 4088m, using Ice axes and Crampons, this will be another challenge. We are looking forward to it and hope you dig deep tp sponsor us. We will keep you updated on our progress.

17/11/2011 Another good weekend of fundraising, we help a Pamper Evening and also ran a coach trip up to the new Westfields Shopping centre, we raised £442.00, which is great. Katrina and Julie are now booked to climb Mt Toubkal in Morocco in February 2012, this is North Africa's highest mountain at 4167m, so another exhilarating challenge, so keep the funds coming in.

13/9/2011  What a weekend, Katrina Zoe Louise and Julie have now completed the Three Peaks Challenge, what a weekend we had, the weather was against us from the start, we had to cope with rain, fog and gail force winds. The 70mph winds at the summit of Snowdon, prevented us actually reaching the summit, as it was far too dangerous, but we would have made it in the time and were well on target. So we have all acheived a huge challenge and are very proud of ourselves and all the other team members. Thankyou to all our supporters, watching our fund raising total go up and up spurred us on, when we needed it most.

Well what a weekend we had, We headed off to Wales for our last long training walk together. We had already decided we needed to climb Snowdon twice in one day, that was the plan. So off we headed, started off climbing the Llanberis track, sun shining so all good, then the rain started layers went on, by the time we reached the summit, it was wet, windy and foggy, great, so we headed down the Pyg track( i know why its called that now!!) got the to bottom and stood under the porchway of the cafe for our lunch, soaked to the skin. We then headed back up th Pyg track in the Rain Wind and Fog, passing lots of people coming down looking at us as thought we were mad!! got to the top and then went down the Llanberis track. We were soaked through to the skin, but felt great that we had done what we set out to do.. So Three peaks here we come.......

Katrina Woodley, Lynn Jones,  Zoe Woodley and Paula Girton have now completed their Tandem Skydive, what an amazing experience. Going up in the plane to 13000ft was scary enough, especially when the door was open, but out we went one after the other, freefalling for 45seconds then the parachute opens and you descend through the clouds and catch your first glimpse of land. WOW!!! another few minutes and the ground is approaching at a very fast rate, its legs up and down we go. Fantastic achievement for us all. Lots of support, thank you all so much.

Lynn's Pops is doing well and fighting cancer, he came and watched us, it was great he was there as he is one of the many people  we are doing this jump for  and all the other cancer sufferers and their families that are supported by Macmillan Cancer Support.

Our next event now is when Katrina Woodley, Louise Everett ,Julie Scott and Zoe Woodley climb the Three Peaks in 24hours in September 2011. So continue with the support and we will continue with the training.

They will start in Scotland and Climb Ben Nevis (1344m), then drive to the Lake District and climb Scaffell Pike (978m) and then drive down to Wales and climb Snowden (1085m) all within 24hours. This will be a huge challenge, one which we are all training for and again hope to raise alot of money for Macmillan Cancer Support

Then Finally in March 2013 Katrina Woodley Maxine Hellier Jane Money and hopefully our new recruits will be joining us to attempt to get to Everest Base camp, I will put more details of this challenge later on.

We would all like to raise lots of money for Macmillan Cancer Support, as we all know they do help cancer sufferers and their families with much needed support and comfort.

Please do sponsor us with as little or as much as you can, it will all help a very worthy cause.
