My personal message:

THE CRAZY FOOL IS OFF AGAIN !!

Following my trek to Macchu Picchu, Peru in May 2009 I raised in excess of £4,000 for the British Heart Foundation and as a group a staggering £71,000 and counting! Truly amazing amount of money and what a totally amazing experience; beyond words!! So what next I hear you cry, the London Marathon, maybe a trek to Iceland, surely not Killamanjaro the toughest of the lot....Well, those of you that know me, know full well that I don't do things by half so i've decided to do the lot!!! And throw in a few extras, spice things up a bit!

The plan goes something like this:

Sept 09: 75km solo circumnavigation of the Black Mountains in Wales, camping in the wild and carrying 20kg of kit on my back (no sponsor, solo event) Completed in 52 hours, wicked challenge!

Sept 09: The Great Cambridge Run - Half marathon, just to get the taste! (BHF event) Completed in 1hr 55 minutes - smashed my forecast time to bits!

Sept 09: Ascent of Scaffel Pike, Lake District. The highest mountain in England (no sponsor, solo event) Completed in 7 hours 25 minutes and finished in the dark! Most people start from one end, either Seathwaite or Wasdale. I walked from one to the other, then up and back again. Why, we'll I'd like to say to be different.....to be honest I forgot my GPS ha ha - oh well mission accomplished!

Oct 09:  Ascent of Snowdon, Snowdonia. The highest mountain in Wales (no sponsor, solo event) Completed in under 4hrs 15 mins with a bit of down hill slalom and off piste descent down the 70 degree scree slopes - easy peasy! Amazing views.....will try and do it twice back to back next time in under eight hours!!

Oct 09:  Double Trouble on Snowdon, Snowdonia. Back to back ascents of the highest mountain in Wales. 1st Ascent solo at night!! Second ascent via the Crib Goch arete (knife edge ridge) with 1200ft drop either side. Time for the plastic pants! Quality, night ascent completed in just 3hrs 20 minutes, pitch black and thick cloud, surprise surprise!! Crib Goch was mental, very hairy, but completed that plus all the other mountains peaks in the Horseshoe in 5hrs 50 minutes! Man that was hard going! Can't wait to do it again though.

Nov 09: High Peaks Challange  - 17 mile winter hike in the Peak district hills, shall I run it.....not sure yet! (BHF event)

Dec 09: Scotlands finest, assult on the highest mountain in the UK - Going the hard way up Ben Nevis!! (no sponsor, solo event)

March 10: Silverstone Half Marathon - Surely I'll be able to do it backwards by then (Action for Kids Event)

April 10: The London Marathon - this is the one that scares the pants off me!! Sub 4 hours is my target (Action for Kids event)

May 10: 24 Hour Three Peaks Challange: The Three highest summits in the UK back to back; Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England & Snowdon in Wales. Anyone fancy being the driver!

June 10: London to Brighton Bike Ride - 56 miles of pain on a saddle, no Brighton bum for me thank you! (BHF event)

June 10: Wales 3000 Challange: 15 peaks all over 3,000 feet, 24 hours, 30 miles non-stop,  no public transport allowed, in fact no transport at all except ones legs and a lot of guts and determination - not an easy one folks but really looking forward to this one.

July 10: Iceland Trek, Ice Rock and Fire! - 6 days of camping and trekking lava fields, glaciers, canyons, river crossings and laying in hot springs during 20 hours of day light, then a well deserved night out in Reykjavik (BHF event)

September 10: Killamanjaro THE BIG ONE - Nine day trek to summit the highest trekkable mountain on the world, just short of 6,000m. Day eight is a breeze, only 17 hours of hiking in sub zero temperatures. Bet I still do the optional extra 2 hours through snow and wind to Uhuru Peak: Bring it on baby!!!! (BHF event)

Why am I doing it, same reason as Peru.

"When you lose your dad, a fit, healthy, non smoker through heart disease and see him die in your arms, it touches like no other emotion in the universe - that's why I support the BHF - no one should go through this. Luv ya dad x !"

So you lovely, generous, kind hearted, charitable and beautiful people out there, just have a little think about this and do the honourable thing. Your can't take your money with you and there is ALWAYS someone out there that needs it more than you!!

I just need to add one more very important  thing: As I did for the Peru trek, I am personally funding the entire cost of the treks, taxes, admin et al. EVERY penny you kindly donate goes straight to the BHF and helps save a life!

Thank you with all my heart for your support!

Si

xx
