About my charity
:
East Anglia's Children's Hospices
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) has three children’s hospice care services based at Milton in Cambridge, Quidenham in Norfolk and Ipswich in Suffolk, which also serves North Essex. EACH is a registered charity that relies on public support for approximately 72% of their required income of around £5.8million a year – this amounts to nearly £11,500 a day from voluntary donations.,p>There are an estimated 23,500 children in the UK who are not expected to reach adulthood. Caring for a child or young person with a life-threatening illness, often for 24 hours a day, seven days a week, can put a huge strain on family life. Life can become governed by the timetable of nursing and medical needs. Careers may have to be put on hold, healthy brothers and sisters can feel left out and regular family activities and holidays can be rare. During all of this, families are going through a process of grieving.EACH’s three multi-disciplinary care teams help local children with life-threatening conditions and complex healthcare needs, and their families with the emotional and physical challenges they face, helping them to make the most of life. They welcome the whole family for a short break together or time to themselves in a home-from-home environment or in the comfort of their own home.

| My personal message: |
**UPDATE 2** Well, despite an injured foot I ran the London Marathon yesterday in a time of 3 hours, 56 minutes. I am glad to say that I have completed both marathons and look forward to the day when I can walk again. Thank you to everyone for their support and generosity. *UPDATE* I have now returned from Paris having completed the marathon in 3 hours 46 minutes and 9 seconds. I have 5 days to recover and then hopefully I can run again on sunday. Thank you to everyone for their support. I will be running the Paris Marathon on the 6th of April and the London Marathon on the 13th of April (1 week later). I will be doing this in order to raise money for East Anglia's Children's Hospices. These hospices provide care for those children unlikely to reach adulthood as well as support and respite for their families. I hope you agree that this is a worthwhile cause and dig deep as the hospices rely on public generosity for over 80% of their funding. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: East Anglia's Children's Hospices will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support. Ross Hamilton
