My story

Why am I running this race? Well, in August 2007 my dad died suddenly, then a month later my mum was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer - all came out of the blue. I had a very bad spell as you might imagine, so decided to take up running as a way of dealing with the stress of things. I began to enjoy it so much, I decided to enter a running event.

Meanwhile, my mum and I have benefited greatly from the help of Marie Curie nurses, who stay some nights each week to give me  break. I run my own business, which was hit hard by these life events, but the Marie Curie nurses have helped to give me the time to work, sleep and try to do normal things, as well as providing a welcome change and highly professional care through the night for my mum.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Marie Curie Cancer Care will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Have done the race now - thanks to all those who sponsored me and coughed up the cash. As for those who said they would sponsor, then didn't cough up, well - shame on ye!

Many thanks for your support.
