3.6.09 Where is that line again?? Bringing it home in 2,359th place out of 8,257 punters.
1.6.09 HOT, HOT, HOT!!!! The race yesterday was a beautiful day for anything but running. Finished in my 3rd quickest time, but was well down on my anticipated time. Managed it in 3:57.01. A bit disappointed, but just happy to finish given the conditions. Asi es la vida. Thanks so much to everyone who has sent emails/texts/phone calls/thoughts. I am heading out with the kids to the park soon...it might take a while to get down the stairs though!

Only 5 more sleeps until the big one!!!! Had a very leisurely hour run on sun around arthur's seat...lovely and sunny. Had a swim with sol this morn and a nice fancy lunch out with jessie and her mum, sarah (gotta load up on those carbs...and immense choc ice cream dessert thingos with a jug of hot choc sauce to pour over top!)...mmm!
Thanks for all your support and positive thoughts. Looking forward to a great run on sun...legs feel good and mind is ready to rumble.

Less than 3 weeks to go. Did delicious 25 miler yesterday from home, along Union Canal, Water of Leith to Balerno, via Threpmuir Reservoir through the Pentlands to Flotterstone, and back to Balerno (3hrs 50mins). Gorgeous sunny day with a quick heavy shower. Bit sore today: knees and toes. Feel great and ready to taper now. The pool tomoz with Sol will be very welcome. Aiming for 3hrs 30mins come race day.
Thanks, folks...every time I log on lately someone has donated! Less than 4 weeks to go until the big race and things are going well. Completed Great Edi Run (10km) in 44mins 36secs (2nd best time ever over distance). A hilly, but stunning run around this lovely city. Have also done some great long runs both in OZ and back here in the UK...along the River Torrens, up Chambers Gully accompanied by koalas, along the coast, a hot long run on Easter Sunday on the Heysen Trail from below Mt. Compass back to the farm at McHarg Creek, and last weekend about a 20miler along the canals of Yorkshire. This Sun 10th will be longest run yet...about 25 miles through city and south along coast.
I'm raising money for Amnesty in Satch's memory and running the Edinburgh Marathon (26.2 miles) on 31st May 2009.
Satch always fought for those in need and he loved running. He was a brilliant middle distance runner in his day and he coached and pushed many fantastic athletes...and some pretty average ones too!
A big man with a big heart. A quiet achiever and a top bloke.
Thanks for your support.

The Amnesty International case I have chosen to highlight is that of Women of Zimbabwe Arise (WOZA):
Since February 2003, WOZA members (incl. women and their babies and children) have repeatedly been arrested, harassed, threatened, and denied access to basic rights while campaigning peacefully against atrocities committed and/or condoned by the government.
