Cred partners with IHA-UDP, a remarkable community development project in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.  Health, Education, Sewage, Roads... it truly is an holistic approach that empowers communities to deal with poverty in the slums head on.  Find out more about IHA-UDP at www.cred.org.uk.

As you may have seen from recent news reports - see here - Ethiopia is currently experiencing a shortage of food - and the situation is only likely to get worse in the coming months.  All of this is now having a knock-on effect in the project areas as the cost of food in Addis Ababa is rising at an alarming rate.  For the poorest of the poor, these price rises are particularly critical.

Now IHA-UDP are facing a huge problem with some of their community staff, who are struggling to feed their families.  It is crucial that these staff remain in post for the sake of the continuing work of the project, and whilst IHA-UDP are looking for a long-terms solution, they are appealing to donors and friends to help at this time.
