Update, 27th May 2009: ICELAND TREK, 1st July 2010
Hi All,
Please note that I have transferred to a different BHF event. I'm not able to change the event category and date, so have just changed the title. I've had to make this change for a number of reasons and am happy with this choice. So instead of trekking up 3 volcanoes in Italy later this year, I will now be participating in a 4-day trek in Iceland next July. This will be even more of a challenge than the volcano trek and I'm looking forward to getting my fitness level to where I can manage it.
Thanks for supporting me, Nic

Hi
In a bid to raise money and awareness for the nation's heart charity, the British Heart foundation (BHF), I have committed myself to taking part in the Iceland Trek, July 2010.
The BHF supports life-saving research into the causes and treatment of heart disease. Heart disease is complex and unpredictable and can affect anyone of any age. In addition to funding research, the BHF also invests in education, life-saving equipment and BHF Heart Nurses, helping patients to return to a full and active life. For all of this important work, the BHF relies primarily on donations.
In sponsoring me for this Volcano Trek, you will be helping to support BHF's fight against heart and circulatory disease. To take part in this challenge I have to raise a minimum of £2,200 (although I have set my target at £3000 and hope to raise much more than this). Rest assured that you are not paying for a holiday for me. I am working hard to train for the trip as well as to raise funds. I have already paid the registration fee and have (and will) be contributing more money towards the trip myself.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Heart Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thanks for your support.
Nic
