My name is Nathan Reynolds, I am a 36 year old Civil Servant. My inspiration behind running the London Marathon is to raise money and awareness for the charity after the tremendous support that the association offered me during my wife Michaela's illness. Michaela was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma in November 2001 and underwent many treatments including a stem cell transplant and a bone marrow transplant whereupon she received her older brothers stem cells. Unfortunately despite a long battle she passed away in April 2006. For the past 4 years I have been group organiser of the Coventry Support Group of the Lymphoma Association, something which I very much enjoy and it helps me to give something back to other patients and their families. In October of 2006 I completed the Kenilworth half marathon with two friends having only been running a few months, we raised nearly £2,000 and I enjoyed myself so much I immediately set myself the target of running in this years London Marathon. As a single parent of two young girls, Leah (12) and Hannah (8) finding time for training is difficult and over the next number of weeks I really have to step up the intensity. I am currently running around 25 to 30 mile a week and on Friday completed a half marathon, my goal for the next few weeks is to be at a level where I know I can run around 20-22 miles I'm sure the euphoria of the day will then get round the final few ! Please dig deep and spare a few pounds for this very worthwhile cause. Thanks Nathan
