I just reached the minmum sponsorship and raised the fund raising target to 4500. Please show your generosity to these innocent lives and bring cheers. There is no limit to how much you can help and this is support to a humanitarian cause ! _________________________________________________________ There is hunger for ordinary bread, and there is hunger for love, for kindness, for thoughtfulness, and this is the great poverty that makes people suffer so much.-Mother Teresa Thanks for visiting my fundraising site. As part of the Corporate Social Responsibility, I would be participating in an International charity challenge organized by VSO (Voluntary Services Overseas) with fund raising target of £4500. I will be one of the 22 volunteers worldwide in the first batch of August 2009 to take part in this initiative and the only participant from India. What are we doing: Apart from the individual fund raising target for this charity, I am participating in an international trek for charity (climbing Kilimanjaro mountain, one of the highest free standing mountain in Africa-19340 feet) and thus contributing my part of £300 for this worthy cause. (The trek cost is out of my own pocket and no part of the donations are funded for this trek). What am I asking you to sponsor us for? : There is no minimum amount as such. While some teams found it very participative when they pooled in donations as a team, there were also individual contributions in the range of GBP 5 to 20. As VSO operates out of many developing countries, GBP is is a common currency used for donation world wide. Current conversion is 5 GBP= INR380 approx). It is absolutely voluntary to pledge your contributions on this portal. Takes a minute to donate - click on "Sponsor me now" What your contributions are used for: With over 50 years of experience VSO is operating in more than 40 underdeveloped and developing countries. Their objective is to eliminate poverty, improve education system, building schools, empower women and the disadvantaged, health and hygiene where mortality rates are the highest and more importantly combat the spread of HIV. You can find more information on how your contribution would help the needy people in Tanzania at http://treks.vso.org.uk/kili2009/vso-in-tanzania/vso-in-tanzania.asp
Voluntary Service Overseas gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. Thank you, Mayuresh VSO Volunteer from - India
