Hi everyone. Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online or via sponsorship form with whatever you can. I think you all know the reason why I have been pounding the streets of Nottingham in the past 12 months. I had decided it was time to do my bit. My dad, Pete, passed away in November 2006 suddenly and unexpectedly of a heart attack a few minutes before a heart bypass operation and it is to his memory that I would like to dedicate my run in April. Dad was a wonderful man, friend, husband, father and the most devoted doting Grandad that you could ever see. He drove me forward and gave me a wonderful base in life to succeed. We have all been left devastated by his loss and I know that he always understood the importance of the work the BHF undertake and was appreciative of the care and skill he had received and was due to receive and as i've said, it is now time to do my bit so please give generously for such a worthwhile cause. I think everyone knows someone who has suffered or been touched personally by heart disease and the continual work is required to help ourselves and children in future generations. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Heart Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now and enter all details including your address carefully. The BHF can only claim gift aid if all details are entered.
Once again, to all my friends, clients, work colleagues and my nearest and dearest many thanks for your support. You have driven me and your interest has motivated me over the last few months. I couldn't have kept going without such support. (particular mention to the morning white van men bippers such as Scott U & Corky who have given me the incentive to a do a 5 yard sprint to make me look quicker than I actually am and to the Clarke Dove 5 a side crew whos own fitness levels have made me feel like Iron Man). Take care. I hope to see you all soon. Martyn
