Our personal message:

Hello!!

Thanks so much for considering using some of your hard earned pennies to support us! We really do appreciate anything you can offer!

The reason why I am running the Edinburgh Marathon this year is because I have said for quite a few years....'Wouldn't it be amazing to run a marathon....' and decided that unless I put my name down I would probably be still saying the same thing for years to come! Joe on the other hand had no intention of running the marathon but someone else put his name down for it!Hmmm no prizes for guessing who that was!!

So where else would we want to put ourselves through heaps of pain but our new(ish) beautiful home!

The charity we have chosen to support may not be one that you have heard of before, but who do absolutely amazing work.

A small amount of information on Support Dogs is below so please do have a look and discover for yourself some of what they do. For further information visit www.support-dogs.org.uk

Please, please donate anything that you can afford. Dig as deep as you can -we sure will be on the day!

Thank you so much in advance of your kind generosity!!

Love from Marie and Joe xx

Support Dogs is a UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with epilepsy and people with disabilities by training dogs to act as efficient and safe assistants.

Our dogs are trained to assist and support their owners with their specific disability. Each dog is taught tasks tailored to his owner's needs, enabling the disabled person to lead a fuller and more independent life.

As registered Assistance Dogs, all Support Dogs have full access into restricted areas and are able to accompany their owner at all times.

The charity
trains two main types of Support Dog: Seizure Alert® and Disability Assistance. Both programmes run nationally with the main training during each taking place in our National Training Centre in Sheffield.

Each dog costs in the region of £10,000 to train and support for life and w
e are committed to our policy of making no charge to the disabled person for the dogs training.

Support Dogs have trained more than 150 partnerships in total and, subject to funding, aims to train a further 24 dogs each year.
