My story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

In September 2011 we will attempt to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest freestanding mountain in the world.  We will be climbing the 19,340ft. to the summit to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.  We will climb through various different climates with temperatures ranging from +80 degrees to -15 degrees, and five different ecological zones ranging from rainforest to arctic.

Where as Lyndsey may be tempted to try to run to the summit, Lisas' first question was "what do I wear?" - so between us we should find a happy medium to get us to the top!

We will be covering all of our own expenses, every penny raised through this site or any donations made will go directly to Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Please follow our blog to find out how our training and fundraising is progressing:

Why Marie Curie Cancer Care?
Marie Curie Cancer Care provides high quality nursing, totally free, to give people with terminal cancer and other illnesses the choice of dying at home, supported by their families. It runs nine Marie Curie Hospices across the UK offering free specialist care for patients and support for families. The charity conducts palliative care research to find better ways of caring for terminally ill people and also funds scientists who investigate the causes and treatments of cancer.

Our target is to raise £10,000 - exactly how much Marie Curie Cancer Care spend on nursing, hospices and research every hour.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Marie Curie Cancer Care gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you for your support.
