Previously when asked to continue my support for Sports aid by running the marathon I was able to say "i'm really sorry I can't as it will adversely effect my diving training" As soon as I retired in May of last year one of the first things I agreed to was..... to take on the 26 miles on the 26th April. All for charity. For those of you who know me well, I certainly am not a natural runner. This is going to be a massive challenge and for those who like to see me suffer, this is the one! Please give generously.
SportsAid is the charity for sports people, helping the next generation of British sporting talent to succeed.
SportsAid recognise and support young athletes all over the country and have enjoyed doing so since 1976. They are the only major organisation helping talented young people at an age when no-one else does, stepping in with financial backing to help these rising stars advance to the next level in their sporting career.
SportsAid not only provides financial support but it also provides recognition, acknowledging that these young athletes have a special ability and with support and encouragement, they could go on to achieve their full potential.
I am a Sports Aid alumni, as were 18 of the 19 Gold medallists from Beijing. This support early on in a sporting career really makes a difference please lend your support.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Sportsaid gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
