Thanks for visiting my Great North Run fundraising page. Well, I did it! I completed the Great North Run without walking, thanks to the support of all my lovely friends who spurred me on with their sponsorship and moral support, and my brother, Jerome, who jogged round at my pace to make sure I crossed the finish line. The reason for this madness in my 50th year is to raise money to support Christian Aid's work with some of the world's poorest people. In 2007 I was able to meet groups of women in rural Kenya who used to have to walk 6 or 7 miles each day to fetch water. Now, thanks to the help of a local organisation supported by Christian Aid, they have dams and wells and pumps bringing them a local supply of clean water; now they have the resources and the time to grow food, earn a living and send their children to school. Will you sponsor me for running so that fewer women have to walk for water?
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Christian Aid gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
It's not too late, so please sponsor me now! Thank you so much. Kerry xx
