Like everyone else, we were devastated to hear in January that Haiti had been struck by a major earthquake. But news of this disaster has hit Kate particularly hard: If you didn’t already know, back in 2006-7, Kate was seconded from London by Christian Aid to live and work in Port-au-Prince for 9 months & during this time, made many close friends and developed a particular fondness for this vibrant yet desperately poor and insecure country. We’ve both taken up the challenge of running in this year’s London Marathon. That not only means running non-stop for over 26 long hard miles but we've also had to endure a marathon amount of training over the last few months in conditions that could charitably be described as, well, 'unpleasant'.
Our target is to raise £4,500 for Christian Aid which will go towards much-needed emergency relief and rehabilitation efforts, implemented by Christian Aid’s local partners. We know times are hard but please, please give what you can. The need in is massive & your generous contributions will help with rebuilding and rehabilitation. Many thanks - Tom & Kate
