English: Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. We are cycling roughly 1300km from St Andrews to Paris this August!!!!!!! Training has begun and my bum hurts already! Although I am assured that my bum will get used to it! This is a MASSIVE challenge for all of us so please dig deep and sponsor us online. All three of us are 3rd year students at St Andrews university, we had a summer free and wanted to do something ridiculously challenging and undoubtebly worthwhile. So we chose this. All three of us love sports but even to us this epic challeng is quite extreme. And yet not as extreme as the mammoth challenge faced by Save The Children, so we thought we should try to help! We leave this August from St Andrews and aim to be in Paris before September. We have our rout all mapped out averaging roughly 50miles a day. This from students who complain when they have to walk 100m to the shops! Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Save the Children will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
Vielen Dank Christina Müller The Journey has begun! Well we are off and I am updating you live from somewere in England. Pictures to prove this will be on its way for all you sceptics out there! We are 4 days into our 18 day long challenge. And thus far have spent 4 out of the 4 days soaked to the bone. The weather has not been very charitable and I think we are all struggling a bit with the cold. We have crossed the Scotland England boarder via the CARTER BAR!!!!! and are now in a little place called Tow Law sheltering in their comunity centre. Our start was pretty good. St Andrews to Edinburgh was damp but faster than we had anticipated. We stayed at Ians house and were showed fantastic hospitality by his family. We owe them much thanks. Day 2 was a good laugh, first night in a tent! None of us slept very well but we made good use of the campsite tumble dryers! Day 3 was REALLY tough. We were all very tired, it was very hilly, wet and long. It was a real achivement for all of us and the farmer in charge of the camp site laughed when he saw our tent and decided to let us stay on the reception room floor before we were 'washed away'. There have been no major injuries just a few minor complaints. We average roughly 40-50 miles, 300g of chocolate and a jumbo packed of fruit pastiles per day. We were promised that England would be flatter and warmer, we were lied to. But we will power on to York for what will hopefully be better weather... To be continued...
