My first grandson was born on the 9th April this year. We had known for some time he would be born with a serious heart condition, but it still comes as a shock when we all realised what he would be going through. He had his first operation at five days old and this photo was taken when he fully woke up some days later. He will be facing further operations, but with the skill of the surgeons at Birmingham Children's Hospital we are confident of him going from strength to strength.
