Hi,
I thought I ought to drop a little message here for those who are still following this. I was fine until about 22 miles, and then I think my lack of long distance training caught up with me fairly spectacularly. You see the 8min/mile guy had been following me between about 17-20 miles then went a little ahead, then around 21 vanished into the distance, as did one other pace runner (in reflection the other runner was possibly the 3:20 pace guy). I got a bit dispirited when they went off, looked at the clock and I seemed to have lost about 20 mins by dropping my pace right off. In reflection that was probably just time from the wheelchair start. So the last 10k was bad, involved a fair amount of walking and limping, when my knee also decided to give up the ghost.

It's a shame as I badly wanted 3:30. Nevertheless the time is still quite respectable, and seems to have earnt me an entry on the slug...

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. If you haven't already, please dig deep and sponsor me online.
I hope someone will beat my best sponsors so far: online Max Devereaux at £50 and offline it's now my dear old pa with £100 (sorry Stu, you've been usurped)
But it all counts - and as you can see I'm still a long way from my target!
The knee is still giving me a fair amount of grief, but it put up with a 20 mile walk yesterday and the Asthma UK 10k run this morning (15/4/06) http://www.jand.co.uk/Results2006/Asthma_10K.htm
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Asthma UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
