Hi everybody, thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I have now completed the Lapland SnowshoeTrek in January 2009 to raise funds for the Solihull Hospice in memory of Pam. Visiting Lapland was an unforgettable experience, one that was shared with twenty other 'explorers' . The difficulties of climbing up hill in deep fresh snow cannot be minimised and it was only with the support and helping hands of the other 'explorers' that we all succeded! Our visit to the Ice Hotel was one of the highlights of the trek as was rasiing a toast to Pam in the Absloute Bar. An emotional moment as Claire and Abby had secretly arranged for a 'well done' card to be given to me there. On the second day's trek drilling holes in ice over a metre thick in order to go fishing has convinced that fishing will not be one of the hobbies I take up in my retirement! Having sight of groups of reindeer was amazing as was the frozen waterfall. The whole experience was truly memorable. However the real purpose of the trek was to raise funds for the hospice. The support I have received in raising the money has been remarkable and I would like to thank all those who have sponsored me either directly or by attending the various events we put on. Without the outstanding help I have received from family and friends it would have been a challenginbg task. As it is the total raised now stands at £6340 and may even reach £6500!! Once again a huge thanks to all those who have supported me so well in this venture. If you wish to sponser me directly please feel free to donate through this website. If you have any ideas for fundraising please contact me ian.fletcher@orange.net or on 0121 684 0707 Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Marie Curie Cancer Care will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.
Please donate generously.
Many thanks for your support.
