My personal message:

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

During my long run on Sunday 5 April I was struck down with acute pancreatitis and was rushed to the Whittington hospital in north London where I was discharged the following Thursday. I'm now well on the way to recovery but unfortunately I have not had time to build myself back up to full fitness for the 2009 London marathon.

Heart Research UK have very kindly deferred my place until next year and your donations will be automatically carried over to the 2010 Virgin London Marathon.

The good news is that I've got a whole year to raise even more sponsorship in addition to what I've achieved so far. And also there'll be loads more opportunities for updates on my training programme.
