Neil Mitchell Scott James Peter Spindley Bharat Patel Robert Downs Chris Silvani Grahame Murray Guy Ruddock We have a support crew to see us through this challenge, a HUGE thanks from all the frail walkers to these folks. Their commitment is apreciated - staying up for 30 hours and looking after grump walkers would not be everyones idea of fun! Sara Kearney, Julie Hodkinson, Anja Silvani, Margaret Downs, Sirju Patel, Benjohn Barnes, Anthony Millbourne The event began in 1981 as a military training exercise for the elite Queen's Gurkha Regiment in Hong Kong. The Maclehose Trail – a 100 km trail from coast to coast – was used to test their soldiers’ stamina and teamwork skills. The event was quickly adapted to raise funds for the Gurkha Welfare Trust. Hay if they can do it so can we right!
The route follows the South Downs Way, starting in Petersfield and finishing in Brighton.
Our intention is to raise as much money as possible to help to improve the lives of others. The beneficiaries include, the Gurkha Welfare Trust, and the Army Benevolent Fund who provide support to serving soldiers, former soldiers and their families in times of need, and Oxfam.
So please sponsor the Frail Walkers.
