Once again I am running in the Asics 10K run on Sunday July 12th, to raise money for the Heritage of London Trust. They are a very tiny charity with only 2 part-time staff (my wife is one of them!). They give out grants to help restore London's historic buildings and monuments that are in communtiy use. They have helped restore churches, memorials, sculptures, clocks, and artworks in every one of London's 33 boroughs. Since the Trust was established almost 30 years ago, they have invested £3 million into regeneration projects across London. As I work in city I was most interested in what they had helped with there - in the past few years they have given grants towards restoration work at St Paul's Cathedral, St Bart's Hospital, and the William Blade's Library at St Bride's Institute. Just last year they pledged £4,000 towards restoring the facade of Bishopsgate Institute, just opposite Liverpool Street Station. All these buildings offer services to the local community - they are much more than just "old" buildings or tourist attractions. I hope this year I can raise some money to help them with more regeneration grants. You can help by making a donation towards my run. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Heritage Of London Trust Limited gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now and help me to do my bit to save our wonderful history and heritage! THANK YOU!!
