My personal message:

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.  I'm going to crew a yacht in the JP Morgan Round Island Race in the Isle of Wight on 19th June 2010, raising money for Breast  Cancer Care.  Last year I fought breast cancer and I know first hand what brilliant work BCC does to support women (and men) through diagnosis, treatment and recovery.  Please, please, please sponsor me so that BCC can continue to be there for others.

The race involves 1500+ boats from around the world sailing 50 nautical miles around the Isle of Wight in one day.  There are 4 special yachts raising money for cancer charities: Breast Cancer Care, Prostate UK, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Ellen MacArthur Trust.  These 4 identical Oceanis 40 yachts will be racing against eachother to win the Charity Challenge.  We will have a professional skipper and crew to show us the ropes, but we will be fully involved in running the yacht.
