Fri 31 July 09 Hi,
With approx 137 other riders ranging from 18 to 76 (I’m somewhere in the middle!), I cycled 303 miles from London to Paris over 4 days ending on 25 July! Wow, what an experience! My progress during the ride was reported on www.twitter.com/christopholiver Please have a look to find out about the ups and downs of the trip, but do start at the beginning to get a sense of the whole picture.
We have raised over £200,000 so far and are still hoping to achieve our group target of £250,000 to help Christian Aid fight poverty and injustice around the world and give hope and life to others.
During training, I travelled over 1,200 miles … had 6 punctures … had 1 fall off of bike (travelling at 2mph!) … bought a more comfortable saddle … had to have a rebuild of my back wheel (at the very last minute!) … and made my 1st successful puncture repair which has lasted over 100 miles so far!
It’s definitely not to late to support me and help Christian Aid – any size amount would be gratefully received, whatever you can afford - Christian Aid is such a great cause – have a look at http://povertyover.christianaid.org.uk/
With very best wishes - Chris Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Christian Aid gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.]
