WaterAid is the international charity working in developing countries to help provide simple, permanent solutions to everybody's need for safe drinking water & sanitation. For several years I have not given Christmas presents or sent cards preferring instead to donate the money I might have spent to charities with good records of effective, sustainable work.  WaterAid is a charity which I support regularly and their work really does make a huge difference.  I do not wish to receive Christmas presents or cards either - I would much prefer people to make a donation towards my target figure of £1000 raised by 12 January 2007.
