CHAMBERS CHALLENGE! FOUR BROTHERS AND A SISTER-IN-LAW ATTEMPT THE GREAT NORTH RUN FOR B.H.F. This year the Chambers family en masse have set themselves a target of raising £3,000 for the British Heart Foundation. Why? In January 2003 we were delighted by the arrival of a beautiful new cousin into the family – a lovely little girl to even up the male/female ratio a bit. Three days later our hearts and lives were turned upside down as Ana Mae was rushed into hospital with severe breathing difficulties. She had been born with a complicated, life threatening heart condition and needed major surgery as soon as possible. Six years, several operations and countless hours of fear and hope later, Ana is a lively, healthy, happy, funny, ordinary and extra-ordinary ray of sunshine with only her “zippy bits” operation scars to show that there ever was a problem. The research, work and support of the British Heart Foundation have made a major impact on our family life and we are immensely grateful. They helped to give Ana a future and us a new perspective. We want to give them the best ‘thank you’ gift we can – the biggest sum of money we can raise for them to use in saving more precious lives and supporting families through similar frightening circumstances. All 8 of us are doing our bit! Those young and fit enough are going to attempt the Great North Run in Newcastle on September 20th. The rest are shouting support on the sidelines, digging deep into our own pockets and helping to spread the word and collect the cash. Which brings us to the crunch! Could you help us to reach our target, or better still, exceed it? We would really appreciate your support. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: British Heart Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. If you would prefer, we would be more than happy to receive your donations via the post or in person. If you watch the T.V on Sunday 20th September, you may even catch a glimpse of us reaching the finishing line (hopefully)! Many thanks for your support. The Chambers Family
