I was not a Christian when tragedy hit my life, what I was, was an elite athlete! On the 1st of August 2007 I was hit by a car from behind whist cycling. The car was travelling fast and the damage to my body has been severe enough to end any dreams and visions I may have had as an athlete. My skull was fractured, my face ripped up, my heel fractured, my calf torn off and my spine damaged.

I am attempting this bike ride to Paris, the reality is I should have died on that road, but my life was spared. I was unconscious and if it wasn't for an off duty nurse that stopped a minute behind my accident I would have died on that road. Before this incident I was a great talent, now I have the opportunity to make a difference and affect lives positively, in simple ways such as providing clean drinking water for children.

This ride would have been no challenge to the athlete prior to this accident, but to the girl after the accident it's an enormous challenge!

On this road to Paris I hope to change some lives for the better, by providing them with much needed funds in order to establish themselves in a position whereby they may be able to support themselves. THIS IS A GOOD CAUSE.

Most of all somewhere on this road to Paris I am hoping to find a glimmer of the person I used to be and maybe just maybe find some hope and dreams for the future.
