On Sunday 25th October, Higgy's Heroes will be taking on the Stroud Half Marathon. 100 Higgy's Heroes will be on the start line as they face the exciting challenge of a 13 mile race. Alastair Hignell was one of the most talented sporting all-rounders of his generation, winning four Blues for Cambridge University at Rugby Union and four at cricket. He was capped by England 14 times at full back before retiring through injury in 1979. He joined the BBC in 1985 and went on to carve out another successful career in broadcasting before retiring last year. Alastair was diagnosed with MS in 1999 and is patron of the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre (MSRC) and actively campaigns to raise more awareness of MS. Following on from all of Higgy's fine fund raising, an eclectic group of us, with a tenuous link to the carpet industry, have decided to join the Higgy's Heroes Team for the Stoud Half Marathon. Our team comprises Becky Mann from the famous Coutts & co, Marcus Woodward of Baileys, Lee Thomas of Bajong Carpets, David McConnell from Florco and elite long distance runner, Eddie O'Gorman. Any sponsorship, however small, will be much appreciated. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us now!
