My story

In the summer of 2006 I was lucky enough to take a group of boys from Reading School on a World Challenge expedition to Tanzania. During our stay we were all touched and humbled by the love and happiness we received from the children and young people we met, and lived with during our stay, despite the extreme poverty in which they lived. I felt so priviledged to have met so many wonderful people during the trip I was determined to try and find a way to help improve the lives of children living in Africa. This led me to find out about AbleChildAfrica.

I really the value the way  AbleChildAfrica helps not only to support young children but also empower them by campaigning for the full inclusion of disabled children in government policy making. Allowing these young people to freely integrate into communities, giving them the opportunity to receive the same level of education and training as anyone else.

The work that AbleChildAfrica has done for over twenty years has had a positive effect on tens of thousands of disabled children and young people in Africa. Please help me raise as much money as possible to help support the children whose rights are so often forgotten about. Small amounts of money can really make a big difference:

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: AbleChildAfrica will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

As usual I will be running in a suitably ridiculus outfit, although it has not been decided on yet so if you have any suggestions!!!!

Thanks for your support  Ben
