My story
Hi all - I only gone and ran a marathon!!
I am pleased to report I completed my first marathon in a time of 4 hours 30 mins.
I throughly enjoyed the whole thing, but I have to confess the last couple of miles were very tough. I was delighted to see Lou, Marcus & Stasie on the embankment at about 24th mile, it made me cry but inspired me to carry on to the finish line.
The crowds were brilliant all 26 miles, and I am still on a high knowing this old bird has run 26 miles.
Of course I can hardly walk today, I am very stiff and wont give too much detail about the blisters but its not pretty. Shuffling around the office today caused some amusement, but i don't care as i ran a marathon.
Thank you all for your support and I am so grateful for your sponsorship.
I thought about dad when I crossed the line and I know he would be amazed and proud I did it. I am on my way to raising £2000 which is brilliant.
I plan to have a few drinks this week to celebrate and will start collecting sponsorship from those who sponsored me offline this week.
