My story
I have decided to run the 2010 London Marathon for the British Heart Foundation.
My inspiration is my beautiful daughter Aashima who is now 23 months old.
At 6 weeks old, she was admitted to hospital with oxygen saturation levels of only 40-50% (normal levels are 98%+).
Aashima was diagnosed with 3 major congenital heart conditions, transposition of the great arteries, a ventricular septal defect (VSD) and pulmonary stenosis. Aashima has already had 2 major heart operations at the amazing Royal Brompton Hospital in Chelsea, London, and her saturation levels are now over 70%, but over the coming years she will need to have further major heart surgery to help her live a full life.
She has a long journey ahead of her, but I am certain she will grow to be a strong and healthy woman.
Aashima is my inspiration.
Her name means "limitless" in hindi, and she has shown limitless strength and courage in her first year. I am running the London marathon to help Aashima and others like her.
I personally welcome any size of donation, large or small to hit my target. I am training hard, and would welcome your donations to help the hero's involved in helping my inspiration, Aashima, live the life she deserves.
