Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. It's that time of the year again! In February this year, my cousin Stella gave birth to baby Matthew (pictured) who was born with a condition known as Hirschprung's disease, which is a rare disorder of the bowels where nerve cells do not develop through the full length of the colon, affecting approximately 1 in every 5,000 babies. Stella and her husband Ian were told that Matthew needed to undergo major surgery in order for him to survive and that he only had a very small chance of surviving the operations he went through. Matthew did, however, overcome these odds and has since been allowed home with Stella and Ian; we are delighted with his progress. On 30th September 2007, I will be running the Great North Run (13.1 miles) to raise funds for the Alder Hey Imagine Appeal, which cares for the health of over 200,000 children and young people each year. More specifically, the funds will be donated towards Hirschprung's research to try and find a cure for the disease. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alder Hey Imagine Appeal will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support. Anna
