My personal message:

Thank you every one ... I completed my first marathon in very hot conditions in 3 Hours 44 Mins and 34 Seconds.

Hi Everyone ...

So i've decided to do a Marathon, this will surprise many of you and even more surprising I'm actually giving up smoking to do it.

I do have a target time which I have set myself but I don't think I'll share that with you at the moment ...

For those who are interested I've also got a blog site describing my journey to hopefully completing my first marathon .. if you are clever you can subscribe to this page and get all my weekly updates! .... MY BLOG SITE

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: CancerCare North Lancashire and South Lakeland gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

Update
a few days to go .... Eating Carbs .. Resting ... that's it really ... weather is due to be hot .... that's the bad news ... getting nervous

Update
2 weeks to go .... Training in numbers ... 600 miles, 3 Personal Bests, 3rd Pairs of Trainers, 0 cigs.

Update
3 weeks to go, not long now ... starting taper, no injuries apart from general aches and pains but what do I expect ..... thanks to every one who has sponsored me ... and obviously still not smoking ... not even on patches ! ..

Update
6 weeks to go, trying to get some speed into my training runs at the moment, so far completed 4 x 20 + milers, no real niggles at the moment which is good ... got some Blacksheep series events coming up to focus on speed, 10k and 10 miles. maybe a couple of long runs more, and then taper

.... and for all those who have mentioned it the no smoking is going well.
