**UPDATE**

As you may know, we completed the London Marathon on 13 April in a time of 6h 42m. We had a great day and were very grateful to all of you who came to support us.

Most importantly, we have raised a fantastic amount of money for the Breast Imaging Unit, so we would just like to say a massive thanks to everyone who sponsored us. The Unit is coming to the end of a major fundraising campaign to allow it to purchase a new digital mammography machine, which will enable easier and more accurate diagnosis of breast cancers, so thanks again.

****

Thanks for visiting this page - we hope you will be able to sponsor us as we raise money for the Breast Imaging Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich by walking the London Marathon on 13 April. You may have noticed that we have increased our fundraising target - that's because we don't really have one - we just want to raise as much as possible!

Why walk and not run? Well, as many of you will know, whilst training for last year's London Marathon, Andrea was diagnosed with breast cancer. Over the past year, she has had two courses of chemotherapy, surgery and finally radiotherapy - which finished on 22 Feb - just 7 weeks before this year's race.

So, the simple answer is that there just isn't enough time to train to run. Although we're sure you will agree that walking 26.2 miles so soon after finishing treatment will still be a huge endeavour.

We're raising funds for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich, where Andrea had most of her treatment. Specifically, the funds raised will go to the Breast Imaging Unit and help towards improving the accuracy and comfort of the diagnosis process for the many women (and men) who are treated there.

Obviously this is a cause that is very important to us (the race is on the first anniversary of Andrea's first chemotherapy session), so any and all donations will be most gratefully received. Also, don't forget to tick the Gift Aid box, so that the Unit gets an extra 28% on top of your donation.

Thanks very much again.
