My story
13 months & 2 hours & 13 mins later & my recovery is complete!
Last Sunday (18th September 2011), I completed the 13 mile Great North Run. My old school friend Barney Green ran along side me every step of the way to mark the culmination of my bypass graft recovery.
The half-marathon was further than I had ever run before and in a cardiovascular sense posed no problems which is a testament to my surgeon and what always was a strong heart! My leg muscles did protest somewhat however!
The amount of money you all helped me raise is truly remarkable and with the gift aid contributions is only just short of £5000! Wow!
Thank you all so much for your good wishes, encouragement and of course your all important dosh!
