Don’t laugh but after 10 years I’m running again. After years in the ‘not-running’ wilderness, I am back pounding the streets. Truth is - I have run all my life except this last decade because of an annoying back problem that didn’t want to go away. After turning 40 last year I decided it was now or never to sort the back issue. So with the help of a Physio (thanks Rachel) I now seem able to run again without (too much) back pain. The BUPA London 10,000 takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, 26th May 2008. I’m training as hard as life allows and want to raise some cash for a charity. Cancer is a horrible condition that keeps touching me, my family and friends along with the lives of many others. CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity - supporting children, young people and their families through all that cancer throws at them. I know it’s tough after Christmas and money’s really tight- but if you could please dig deep and sponsor me online even if a small amount – that would be great. My target (gulp) is £1,000.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also a really efficient way to sponsor me: CLIC Sargent will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thanks for your help. And if you see a slightly overweight middle-aged guy running around Suffolk rather out of breath – don’t laugh too much – it may be me. Best wishes Aleks Szymanski aleks@itineris.co.uk
