My story

Update 'Just after the Event'...

I've now returned from Tanzania and WOW - what an experience.  The good news is I made it to Uhuru Peak itself - the highest point on the summit of Kilimanjaro and, at 19,340ft above mean sea-level, the highest point in Africa and higher than anywhere in Europe.  The bad news is I've got a lousy cold, a chesty cough and it'll take about 3-weeks to clear the dust out of my lungs!  And it was too busy at the summit post to get a photo on my own in front of the sign.  But I wouldn't have missed this for the world!

Just because I've hit my new target is no reason to stop donating - the demand for Marie Curie Cancer Care's nursing service doesn't stop due to a 'target' being hit...

A Previous "LAST MINUTE DOT COM"...

I've increased my target!  It's going well so I've taken a 'brave' tablet  and have decided to increase the target from the original £3750 I had to raise (as a minimum) to £5000.  So let's see if we can't get there together.

Hi!

I'm climbing Mt Kilimanjaro to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care, supporting their 'Kent Nurse Appeal' to raise £239,000 so they can continue to care for terminally ill people within the reassurance of their own homes, and provide support to their families at the same time.

It's an awesome challenge... and climbing the worlds tallest free-standing mountain is gonna be quite tough too!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Marie Curie Cancer Care gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation (at absolutely no cost to yourself)

So please sponsor me now and thank you - they are a fantastic charity and worthy of every penny raised.

Love and hugs,

Bart
