On the 3rd April 2007, BT launched Inspiring Young Minds in partnership with UNICEF, a global charity programme that has the potential to change the lives of thousands of children around the world. Working with UNICEF, the worlds leading organisation for children, BT has invested £1.5 million three years into bringing education, ICT and communication and life skills to children and young people in deprived areas across South Africa (2007/8), Brazil (2008/9) and China (2009/10).

This year BT and UNICEF are helping to improve the quality of education in disadvantaged schools in rural China. Here the standard of education can be very poor. Children are often held back by large classes, inadequate teacher training and a lack of ICT equipment and modern technology.

In the first two years of the partnership BT people raised a fantastic £380K for the programme in South Africa and Brazil. Now your help is urgently needed to support children in China. Every pound, euro, dollar you raise will go towards providing at least 100 computers for schools in remote rural China, giving thousands of children access to ICT for the very first time.
