Overwhelmed?
It’s hard to take in,
but it's no exaggeration to say that HIV and AIDS
has become the biggest crisis facing humanity.
So why aren’t we doing more? Do we reckon it’s too far away?
Or not our problem? Or that it’s too massive for our efforts to
have any effect?
IF ONE IN THREE PEOPLE IN THE UK OR THE USA WERE INFECTED WOULD WE BE STANDING BY, WATCHING?
In many parts of the world that's already the scale of the horror. Entire nations are being crippled by AIDS. And as the disease starts to take hold in countries such as India, China and Russia it could get far, far worse. Unless we act decisively. Now.
The battle against HIV and AIDS is far from lost – and the best bit is you CAN help to make a REAL difference.
The Opportunity
We're not pretending there are easy solutions. But solutions start with realising you can make a difference.
There’s still real hope - in many of the hardest hit areas of Sub-Saharan Africa, 95 percent of under 15 year olds are not yet HIV positive.
And there are organisations already fighting HIV and AIDS on the frontline. Grassroots organisations dedicated to stopping the disease in the most effective way possible - by empowering the next generation to take charge of their future. They know what’s needed. But they’re desperately short of funds. That’s where you come in.
The Your Finest Hour campaign will support these organisations so that they can expand and save more lives. See Where does your money go ?
Getting involved couldn’t be simpler - donating one hour's worth of your annual salary can be done at the click of a mouse - and we promise it will make a BIG difference. Click here to Donate Now
And donating means you’ll be in with the chance of winning a pair of tickets to “Eyes Wide Open” in London on World AIDS Day, December 1st. This star-studded event will open people’s eyes to the scale of the crisis - and celebrate the power we have to change it.
AND THAT’S JUST FOR STARTERS
There are masses of ways to get involved.
What’s Happening in the UK?
HIV and AIDS know no boundaries, and with over 7,300 new cases reported in the UK last year, the rate of infection is still on the rise. Which means it's still very much a problem for all of us.
You can help by getting involved with your local AIDS organisation. And - most importantly - ALWAYS protect yourself!
