MTV
MTV has been involved in HIV and AIDS prevention and awareness messages ever since it launched 20 years ago, six weeks after the first HIV case was reported. MTV is the world's largest television network for young people. With more than 50% of new HIV infections occurring among young people between the ages of 15-25, MTV's core audience, MTV believes it has a role to play in making young people aware of HIV infection and prevention, in the hopes of curbing new infections. MTV leverages its multimedia strength to reach young people with crucial messages in a format that appeals to them.

Staying Alive
MTV's global multimedia HIV and AIDS awareness and prevention campaign, Staying Alive, is the world's largest campaign intended for young people. Along with disseminating awareness and prevention information, Staying Alive challenges stigma and discrimination associated with HIV and AIDS, as well as empowering young people to protect themselves from infection. The campaign consists of documentaries, PSAs, youth forums, Web content, marketing initiatives and on-the-ground events.
