Beyond donating through Your Finest Hour there are masses of other ways you can get involved in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Try these for starters:

2. Volunteer Your Time
There are loads of ways you can provide support with your time:
In the UK, please contact your local HIV group.
To find out where they are, visit: www.aidsmap.com
If you’re thinking of helping abroad, then contact VSO. VSO (Voluntary Services Overseas) enables trained, professional people to share their skills and change lives in some of the countries worst affected by HIV and AIDS.
Find out how your skills could make a difference; visit:
www.vso.org.uk/volunteering
3. Show Your Support on World AIDS Day
If it’s the only thing you do, wear the Red Ribbon on 1st December. The Red Ribbon is the international symbol of AIDS awareness; a symbol of respect for those who have died of AIDS, of concern for those living with it, and reminder to us all of the constant need to keep up the fight against AIDS. For other ways to show you support visit:

6. Give Something More
The grassroots organisations that we have teamed up with can always use more support.
Here’s some ways you can get directly involved with them:
- For £250 you can pay for a HIV and AIDS peer educator (“mpintshi”) in a rural community in South Africa for a year.
Visit: www.lovelife.org.za for more information.
- For £450 a month you can sponsor life skills training for a whole class of young girls.
Visit: www.lifecollege.org.za for more information
- For £500 you can sponsor a year of university level education.
Visit: www.cida.co.za for more information.
You can also go to www.nam.org.uk to find out more about how you can support your local organisations in the UK, and www.keepachildalive.org provides details on how you can directly sponsor anti-retroviral drugs for children.
Want to raise more funds for the campaign?
Why not set yourself a personal challenge and a fund raising target and then get friends and family to sponsor you to reach your goal. It's simple. Just click here to set up your own on-line Fundraising page and then tell everyone about it.
7. Show Someone Living with HIV Respect
HIV knows no boundaries - anyone of us can become HIV positive. We need to fully support people around the world currently living with HIV and AIDS. Read their personal stories and find out more about how we can support them:
