The event is in aid of CARE INTERNATIONAL; a global humanitarian organisation working with over 55 million disadvantaged people each year in about 70 of the world’s poorest countries. CARE encourages and supports sustainable growth and the reduction of long-term dependency on handouts. They are a member of the Disasters Emergency Committee and provide shelters, food and supplies when and where required.

This is an example of how the money will be used

£100       provides about 850kgs of maize for a family in , a family of 5 require

                                                70kgs per month

£250       buys enough tools to build a fish lake in and equip the lake with

                                                catchment nets

£500       supplies 70 impregnated mosquito nets to distribute to families living in

                                                malarial zones

£1000    provides essential pharmaceutical equipment to treat 10,000 people for a

                                                month during emergency relief
